Euro Media Forum is organising a fantastic Dr Who event this 24th November 2013 at 2.30 p.m. at Palazzo de Piro, Mdina on the occasion of Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary. Maltese and International Whovians will meet for the first time and celebrate their love for the Doctor, his companions and their adventures. The afternoon will include Doctor Who art & memorabilia exhibition, fan discussions/interviews, documentary screenings, special surprises. A fan art competition is also being organised in conjunction with this event with the winner announced on the 24th of November event.

Fifty years ago this month, a children’s sci-fi drama about an old scientist lost in space and time made its debut and the rest as they say is history. From that classic image the world over of that blue 1960s-style London police box time machine known as the Tardis (Time and Relative Dimension in Space) to the Doctor’s iconic long coat, sonic screwdriver and his villainous cyborg Daleks popularly known for their catchphrase Exterminate! Dr Who’s images are cult favourites and an entrenched part of popular culture. He is arguably the most famous fictional character of the modern era.

Some of the most memorable images and items from the Dr Who TV series will be on display, as a half century of Dr Who will be celebrated at Palazzo de Piro. Many exhibits that will be on display come from famous moments in the TV series and are synonymous with the Doctor’s adventures The 50th anniversary Dr Who event and exhibition will take the audience on a fascinating journey through  Dr Who’s most fantastic adventures that have stood the test of time. There will also be a chance to win loads of prizes thanks to the massive Dr Who quiz competition where specific Dr Who questions tied with the discussion and special episode screening will be asked and also a costume competition, the costume theme may vary from Dr Who to a Dalek and other characters in the Dr Who TV series.
