Mandela: His fight for human rights presentation and discussion on Wednesday 5th February at 6.30 p.m.
Euro Media Forum presents Nelson Mandela’s fight for human rights discussion on Wednesday 5th February 2014 at 6.30 p.m. at Europe House – 254, St Paul Street, Valletta. The evening will delve into Mandela’s contribution towards achieving racial equality in South Africa. From his childhood in a rural village, Nelson Mandela’s life journey would take him to being a political activist sentenced to life imprisonment in what remains the most sensational treason trial in the history of South Africa. The incarceration of Mandela and other political prisoners on Robben Island would become a symbol of the struggle to end apartheid, win freedom and equal human rights through to Mandela’s inauguration as the first democratically elected president of South Africa.
Mr Gerald Ludtke, who lived and was an educator in South Africa, will delve into how he believes the racial conflicts began in South Africa. He will also delve into his experience living in South Africa during the protests for human rights. Mr Ludtke will also speak about living conditions in South Africa today. The event is open for anyone and the audience is invited to participate and put forward to the panel their questions, curiosities and observations. Entrance is free, however there is limited seating and it will be available on a first come, first serve basis. For bookings please email euromediaforum@gmail.com or send an sms to 99454066, or log in http://www.facebook.com/Euro.Media.Forum
